The Special Procedures registered nurse reports directly to the unit Clinical Manager, and is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care through the utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the California Nursing Practice Act, physicians’ orders, established policies and procedures, established professional standards, and administrative hospital-wide policies.
Qualifications
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN desired.
• Current California Registered Nurse License.
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer CPR card.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider or Instructor card preferred. Must complete ACLS certification within one month of hire date.
• Passing score of at least 80% on the Los Robles Regional Medical Center pharmacology exam (new employees).
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Inside - Worker spends approximately 100% of time inside. Inside work has good ventilation and comfortable temperatures.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING /CONDITION
• Primarily works indoors in well-lighted and ventilated rooms. Temperature can be variable but primarily constant at a comfortable level.
• Frequent contact with water and other liquids.
• Maybe subjected to disagreeable odors.
• Hazards include:
o Risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
o Risk of exposure to communicable diseases.
o Risk of exposure to sharp instruments and contaminated equipment.
o Exposure to chemicals as listed in the MSDS manual.
o Frequent contact with fumes.
o May be exposed to abusive and violent behaviors.
o Risk of exposure to radiation.
