Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in the performance of assessment, reassessment, development and implementation of the Infection Control/Employee Health Plan in accordance with regulatory agencies and all federal and state requirements.
Assesses employees and their environment for injury/illness risks and implements appropriate safety precautions and follow up procedures.
Evaluates and consults with members of the health care team regarding the patient/healthcare worker's plan of care.
Assesses patients for risk of transmission or exposure to infections and implements. Appropriate safety precautions and follow up procedures.
Utilizes and integrates all available pertinent data in developing Infection Control/Employee Health Plan that meets the needs of all customers.
Interprets data to determine when patients or employees are at acute risk for infection and takes appropriate measures including notifying physician and/or Department Director.
Continuously prioritizes patient/health care worker's needs based on assessment/reassessment findings relating to the prevention or spread of disease. Recognizes and report signs of abuse or neglect to physician and Department Director and/or appropriate agency.
Demonstrates knowledge of the specific conditions, diseases, and treatment therapies for the specific patient/health care worker population of the organization.
Coordinates diagnostic and therapeutic procedures required by patient/health care worker consistent
Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues.
Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or an unanticipated outcome in the patient's care, which results in patient harm. Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety.
Qualifications
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: State of Florida RN Licensure; Infection Control Certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum 3 years hospital nursing experience or Infection Control position preferred.
